Supercharging Education
Education is on the brink of a massive transformation driven by significant societal shifts and rapid technological changes. At LEGO Ventures, we believe this creates an amazing opportunity for innovation in the way learning is delivered, both in formal (e.g. schools) and informal (e.g. home, after-school) environments. It is an opportunity to move beyond solely traditional, knowledge based learning towards the teaching of 21st Century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication. It is also important to us that learning is inherently playful; it should be fun, meaningful and actively engaging. This is at the core of the LEGO® Idea.
Beyond this, we are interested in ideas around:
- Next generation at-home learning;
- Adaptive learning and personalization;
- Enabling the teaching of progressive pedagogies; and
- 21st Century skill assessment
Digital Play
Digital play experiences provide rich entertainment and deep engagement. In doing so, they can also provide opportunities for creative expression and have the ability to inspire learning and growth.
At LEGO Ventures, we are looking for future digital systems-in-play and immersive worlds that offer new and innovative ways to foster creativity, challenge preconceptions, build skills, or enable social interactivity. We look for bold visions, innovative play experiences, emerging and merging platforms, and progressive business models.
We are specifically interested in:
